Smith & Wesson used Taylor Cutlery for some knives while they were still manufacturing in the USA. I could see this being produced by them. Thanks
Love this big S&W Bowie but history of them is hard to find. Does anyone have some idea on the history of these knives. Were they manufactured by S&W, Steel, dates produced, etc.

Have I upset you, you are trying to disprove everything I provide. We all make mistakes including me, it was my understanding this forum was to provide correct information to S&W lovers. If you look at your copy of your S&W book on page 6 Roy Jinks says, S&W did not have the capacity...
I have all od those models and buy and sell regularily. I think they are without a doubt the finest knives ever produced by S&W, designed by Blackie Collins.
It is part of the 70's designed Blackie Collins knives Model 6080 the folding hunter. I believe they were made by Alcas for S &W in the US. Excellent knife. A real keeper and a great buy for what you paid.
S&W Made the Survival Knives designed by Blackie Collins in house excluding the folding hunter. There is a great book, "The knives of Smith & Wesson" if you can find one of the 1000 printed. Up until about the mid 90's the knives were made in the US under license. Since than they have been...
They were made in the early 80's starting in 1981 and were made for S&W by Vermont Knives. I have the collection as well and trying to purchase some of the folder like the Mavericks. They were produced in 440 and not extremely expensive to purchase. The model 6080 I carry all the time and is...
They are a functional work of Art. I have the survival and skinner. I use the skinner all the time. I bought it loose at a gun show and found a sheath I love at a knife show. Not original, but I bought the knife as an EDC when working on my property. It just has the right feel in my hands...
