Although I have not yet satin bead blasted my 696 I did bead blast a SS Blackhawk and I now love the look of it and feel it's a better gun overall for my purposes. I say satin bead blast it if you like that look!

I paid $650.00 for mine with all the factory paper, second set of grips ect and I think got a good deal. I don't know what all the fuss is about shooting the 329. I shoot full power loads in mine and although the gun does jump around quite a bit it does not deliver any pain to my hands. I think...
