Although I have not yet satin bead blasted my 696 I did bead blast a SS Blackhawk and I now love the look of it and feel it's a better gun overall for my purposes. I say satin bead blast it if you like that look!

What I was really trying to get across with my comment was that among 6" model 29's (especially new) in general the 6.5" barrel length is less common than the 6 inchers. I have to keep in mind that the folks here on this forum are going to keep me honest when it comes to the little details...
