    intermittent failure to fire

I haven't looked at the gun yet and don't know too much about it. I shoot trap with the guy who owns it and know he doesn't clean his guns as much as he should (in my opinion). I'm very familiar with Wolff springs and have upgraded some of my guns with their kits.

    intermittent failure to fire

I'd strip it, clean it thoroughly and, if that doesn't work, buy ALL new springs and install. you are reading my mind.

    intermittent failure to fire

First, Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year. now, the problem. I have a friend who has a 1911 pistol that fires fine but every once in a while, the trigger stops short of it's full backward travel resulting in a failure to fire. He eases pressure on the trigger and tries again and it...

Cases get stuck in my M17-5

The first several rounds fired eject as they should but as the barrel/cylinder heat up, the cases bind in the cambers and will not eject without the help of a light tap with a smith's hammer on the ejection rod. Only two of the chambers expand enough to cause the problem. I don't trust myself...

Did you ever go to the range....?

The problem with arguing with stupid people is that they drag you down to their level. Better just to smile and wave.

lubrication of a Dillon 650..which grease

I want to take down my Dillon 650 for cleaning and lubrication. Nothing is mentioned in the manual about that process or the lubricants to be used. I watched a you-tube video that talks about 30 weight motor oil for the ram and grease for most of the other parts. I'm a little embarrassed to say...

which gun for a new shooter

We have been to the range a few times and she has shot my M64, 642, victory and Dan Wesson guardian in 9mm. I haven't introduced the .357 or .45 acp. I wouldn't hesitate to let her give them a try if she wants to but would like to stay a little less aggressive for now. This young lady is tall...

which gun for a new shooter

A woman I used to work with asked me to teach her how to shoot. We have gone to the range a few times and had conversations about guns in general, safety, etc. She now wants to buy a gun to be used for carry, range and home protection. In my mind, she's talking about three different guns but she...

New to reloading. Questions about bullet weight.

Lots to digest here. Thanks for that. Using tite group powder and 200 gr swc bullets for the 45acp, the Leyman book gives a range of 4.8 to 5.6 (if memory serves). I ran into a guy who uses the same components and loads only to 4.0. Very soft shooting, accurate at 50 feet and cycles the gun (two...

New to reloading. Questions about bullet weight.

Recently bought a Dillon 650 and after making about every mistake I could make finally figured it out. I started out with 45 acp using 200 gr lead bullet. After 500 successful rounds, I'm ready to move on and reconfigure my machine to 9mm at first and then to .38. Which bullet weight do you guys...

Any tips on getting GF interested in guns?

Don't take her at all. Let the range be your sanctuary and treat it like your man cave. Having time away from each other is not always a bad thing.
