Haven’t fired it yet but the gunsmith at the range I belong to says it’s good to go except for the rear sight that slides off on its own (already ordered a period correct one that hasn’t been installed before.

If it looks this, then yes it’s a .38 S&W Model 1905. This one was my grandfather’s, serial # 410164 (4th Change). According to S&W, it was shipped from their factory in September 1922.

Looking to buy an original FBI Contract S&W 1076 10 mm. That’s what I was issued as a new agent in 1991. Hated giving it up when we transitioned to the Glock .40 cal a few years later.
