Thanks again, I don't think I'll be whacking it with a babbit bar but I'll give a closer look to the muzzle. I appreciate the advice as these older revolvers are all a learning curve to me.
I only shot it a bit today but I will bring it back to the range and run more through it to make sure I...
Thanks to all. Interesting stuff. I didn't expect it to be that old. It is nickel now and hearing that it has been refinished is good to know.
I shot it a little bit today and it is very accurate and fun to shoot. The interesting thing I found is you have to make the front site disappear from...
I picked up a revolver today and I am not sure exactly what I have. I think it is 32 Hand Ejector but don't know much else.
It is indicated '32 Long CTG' on the barrel
The grips are diamond pattern and seem to be hard plastic. The serial number on the base of the butt is 214xxx.
On the...
I posted about a failure to feed on a 9mm CORE and got some good advice about the extractor. Thanks. That has been a lousy customer service experience which made me read up on today's S&W.
Based on all the QC complaints I saw I tested a few more pistols at my gun club this weekend.
I shot my...
Thanks for the advice. I will try to get them to put in a new extractor and will keep it clean.
I am more made that they took it for a month and changed the striker bushing like that could possibly have anything to do with it.
My guess is the guy in the shop had to change something to say it...
It's that silly type of thinking that ruins pistols. If one safety is good then two is better and three is better than that. 50 is even better than that.
Why not throw a lawyer lock on it as well? Run a cable lock through the action at all times and have a combination lock and finger print...
It might take a bit till it shows up. The way it works now is S&W will generate the tracking number before FedEx even picks up the package. Once FedEx has the package they will update the information internally.
Good luck. I have one on the way a two more to ship. It has not been a good week...
I don't think I would. The best thing about the M&P is the feel in your hand.
I can't see a grip safety doing anything but taking away from that. I know those more accustomed to 1911s may see the grip safety as normal but M&Ps already have a trigger/drop safety so I see the grip safety...
I might be using 'Stove Pipe' wrong here. What is happening is the new round coming in is jamming. I see the round cocked up with the bullet end higher than the primer and it jams up.
This has happened when manually cocking the pistol (overhand) on the very first round but also mid clip when...
After having my M&P in the S&W shop for over a month I got a real sense that they are over whelmed with failing products. I called about 4 times during that period and everyone I spoke with told me things where real backed up. Even once it was ready to ship I was told shipping was backed up and...
Thanks, I saw that on the Apex site. I have different Apex trigger kits in my other M&Ps.
Starting to resent having to spend hundreds of extra dollars to get an M&P to work correctly.
The extractor is only about $50 with taxes and shipping so if it cures my problem it is worth it.
I've never posted here but have read a lot of good advice on the site.
I have an M&P 9mm CORE which is driving me crazy with failures to feed. I also have a 9mm Pro Series 5" so I know it is not the ammo (new Federal, Winchester and Hornaday).
The pistol will stove pipe about 1 out of 50...
