    Just got a 686 model 11760 today

Well, as soon as i can put my hands on the pointy Starrett feeler gauges I own, I shall report back. The good news is they are as new. Bad news is I've not seen them for 20+ years? Theybe here some damn place. Oh, and, consider? If the gap is really minimal you are not likely to get lots of...

    Smith & Wesson 1854 Lever Action 44 Magnum - S&W "support"

Turns out I just gave the bolt a good push with a blunt jag on a cleaning rod, and it came right out.

    Just got a 686 model 11760 today

I won't get to the range until Sunday. Grrr. Double action is just a tad heavier than I prefer; it is quite good but I like it a bit lighter - easy to fix. The SA is really good with a tiny bit of creep I expect will get ironed out. I just love this weapon with the unfluted cylinder...

Come on guys, I'm dying here. This just does not make sense?

    Smith & Wesson 1854 Lever Action 44 Magnum - S&W "support"

OK. I got the ejector seated, and put the bolt all the way in. Now I can't get the lever to seat in the bolt, and the bolt cannot be pushed out with a brass rod. Something is holding the bolt in? If so, how do I release the bolt to get it half inserted to complete reassembly? The hammer is...

    Smith & Wesson 1854 Lever Action 44 Magnum - S&W "support"

I've done a few rifles with the Neco kit. I want to get to know this rifle better before pursuing that option.

    Smith & Wesson 1854 Lever Action 44 Magnum - S&W "support"

I bought a couple of these not too long ago. One for me. One for my friend. Both had barrels what looked like sewer pipe inside. Sent them back to the factory and they said, "Yep. They shoot", and returned them as is. Wrote to the bored of directors, director of qa, and the president...

Brass deposit form vertical lines on Dillon powder funnel

Also, once I was reloading new Starline 44 mag brass. It stuck to the powder funnel like glue and was miserable to reload. Somebody suggested tumbling the brass and voila! Problem solved.

    Dillon powder dispenser accuracy?

Dillon makes an adapter so that you can mount, for example a Redding BR-30 in place of the Dillon. I use this when loading bottle neck cartridges so that the necks don't get all whacked.

    Dan Wesson 15-2

My 15-2 is the most accurate firearm I own. It is identical to yours, except that I have some rathter nice wood Hogue front strap finger groove stocks. I've had back problems for the last 20 years and have not spent much time at the range. That being understood, last week I put about 50...

    44 Mag Throat Diameter

0.428" seems ok for me My 2001 vintage 629 8.75" barrel throats gauge with pins @0.428". When shot with 0.4295" sized bullets its accuracy is superb, so why fool with it? Hell, the first two of my own hard cast LEE 429-240GC with my first 44 mag loads out of that new revolver both scored...
