    SHOT Show Predictions?

Model 547 - 9mm, no moon clips, and in a 4.2" barrel would be nice. I'm wondering if the market in the U.S for a 4.2 (Canadian legal) is significant enough to warrant production. Are the 686 and the SP101 in 4.2 sold in the U.S. or do they just come to Canada?

    686 and 686 plus

+ or not I have the plus in 38/357 with a 5" barrel. I'm not into competition/hunting so a + or not is not a deal breaker for me. 6 shots is enough for me but we don't have carry up here. I don't see any advantage to a 7, really. Had I had the choice, I would have taken the no plus model...

Forgive me for I have sinned

sin I chuckled as I read your heading. Congrats on your new acquisition - no need for for repentance here. My sin is much worse. I have been waiting for quite a while now for S & W to come out with a 617 in a 4.2" barrel. I don't have enough time left now to wait for one of these, so I...

    Model 617 with a 4.25" barrel???

S & W has come out with a 686/.357 in a 4.25" barrel to overcome Canadian legalities re a prohibited firearm (4" and less). I have been looking at the 617 for a while now but would really like to get it in a 4.25 barrel. What say the gurus - does anyone see this barrel length coming out any...

    686+ - 5" Barrel-38/357-Stainless

I saw an interesting item on the net to the effect that S & W never produced this model with a 5" barrel - only 4" or 5". Mine does measure 5" and was bought new in 2008. Apparently S & W makes the odd custom model under a Dealer Stocking program and offers them to dealers who sell...

Shooting MP9 - Using Dominant Eye

I'm right handed in most things and have been experimenting with shooting right handed ( with both hands) but using my left eye for sighting. It seems to be working fine. I'm left eye dominant and it also has the better sight, so it gives a much sharper picture than using my right eye. Is...

    MP9 - Trigger Question

Yes, it is the initial take up of slack that I'm referring to as "creep". I'm in Canada so, right now, getting anything resembling gun parts from the U.S. is a huge problem but I will keep checking to see if I can find an Apex trigger group. One gunsmith tells me that the gun is operating just...

    MP9 - Trigger Question

After 300 rounds, I'm noticing that the trigger has quite a long creep, a second very short creep, and then it is ready to fire. While it is consistent/predictable, this is not a great thing. Is it a common occurrence and if so - what are some effective corrections?

    MP9 - Trigger Question

After 200-300 rounds, it seems the trigger is getting rather sloppy. There is a considerable creep (not unlike the feel of a savage accu-trigger), then a very small second creep, and finally it is ready to fire. Although it is both consistent and predictable, I'm wondering if others are...
