    945 Question

Based on the pictures you posted, it appears that by "compact" you refer to a 3.25" barrel. They were produced for two different distributors at about the same time. SCSW has the full story.

    4013 vs 3913

Sort of true. There are two frame sizes for the 4013. The original 4013 was, indeed, built on the 4516 frame. The later 4013 was built on the 6906 frame and had a double-stack magazine. The closest .40 S&W approximation to the 3913 is the 4040PD, which is built on the 3913LS frame.

    4566 Concealed Carry Questions

I second the Kramer recommendation. I have had nothing but good experiences with his holsters.

    S&W 4040PD?

I have two. They work very well for CCW.

    4013 vs 4053

It depends. AFAIK, the earlier model of the 4013 (single-stack) is not the same size as the 4053. The later model of the 4013 (double stack) is, AFAIK, the same size as the 4053. I eyeballed the two models of the 4013. The earlier model has a longer slide and barrel, but appeared to be the...

Best 3rd Gen. S&W Carry Gun

IMO, the 4516 is too heavy for carry. Had you provided the 4513 as an alternative, I would have voted for that.

    flat magazine plate for 6906

I had the same problem some ten years ago. At that time, S&W did not sell flat magazine plates for the 6906. I bought a couple of magazine plates for the 5906 and ground them down in front to fit.

New Sigma or Third Gen LE trade in

I voted for the 4053, because it's a lot lighter than the 4006. For carry, light weight is very valuable. I have never shot a Sigma, so I'm hesitant to recommend it.

    CS45 Holster

Kramer (www.kramerleather.com) made them, last time I checked. His holsters are pricy but well worth the price.

    Which to buy...

I would add my vote to that of LDP4570: a third-generation gun in .45 ACP. The only difference is that I prefer a shorter barrel and lighter weight. Thus, I would vote for the 4513TSW, preferably the early one with a six-round magazine, or the Shorty 45.
