S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

The Performance Center confusion does sound likely. As for the hammer pivot pin, my understanding is that it's a pretty minor part that has become almost impossible to fix outside the factory because certain tools are required. They'll have to remove it from the frame, put a new one in through...

S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

Anyway, in the meantime, here are the beautiful grips I received this past fall from Jennifer and John Culina:

S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

A couple of things I forgot to mention in this most recent post: 1. According to my FFL, sometime late last year, S&W lost the initial return merchandise authorization assigned to this gun. They had to create a new one for it around December. Maybe this is why they believed they were owed...

S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

Thank you. I think they're going to look great. I love a pale grip on a blued gun, and birdseye maple works better for me than ivory. I think of them as my "Vermont Ivories."

S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

I have an update, sort of. My FFL called me to tell me some good news: My gun had just arrived back with him. However, he had some bad news, too: The gun had arrived unrepaired, disassembled, with its inner parts in plastic bags. S&W had included a form claiming that they had reached out...

S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

Today I called S&W customer service with my serial number and asked for a status update. The rep told me they couldn't give me updates directly since I sent it in through my FFL. If there's any news, he said, it'll be given to my contact at the gun shop, not to me. According to him, this...

S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

Thanks, Chase. This is all good info to have. The gun isn't current production, which could be the fly in the ointment here. Maybe it's an older bluing process, or the need to run up a part they no longer stock. But yes, agreed. I miss her dearly.

S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

This is a good point--I've wondered, too. I'm hoping I won't have to re-initiate any sort of warranty claim made by the shop on my behalf if I reach out directly.

S&W Warranty Repair - 8 Months and Counting - Normal?

Hey, all. Long-time listener, first-time caller. Wanted to share my experience so far with a S&W warranty repair and see whether anyone has had a similar one recently. My Lew Horton 27-8's hammer pivot pin broke, so I had my local gun shop send it back to the factory for a warranty repair...
