What is this 5906 in a cardboard box with American flag?

OK, you guys are better than ChatGPT, and less dangerous too. I'm thinking that this was indeed some overrun or canceled overseas order that Zanders purchased. Thanks.

What is this 5906 in a cardboard box with American flag?

I have this 5906 I got new in 1999. The dealer said he thought it was a order cancellation/over run for the Japanese police? I'm pretty sure it came with 3 reduced round mags with orange followers. The cardboard box has a American flag on it any ideas? thanks

How much abuse can a 3rd Gen ejector take?

I suspect these parts get more wear from being rammed by hand into the slide than from their normal operation.

How much abuse can a 3rd Gen ejector take?

I went indoor shooting today, and was browsing the case at used pistols. I looked at a 3rd Gen Smith. It was pretty beat up, and it sure had heavy marks on the rear of the slide from forgetting to push down the ejector, sear release levers during reassembly. I hate that part of the design. ...

4506 how long will it last with maintenance

Well, I have a 4506 and a 4586. Like them a lot, except for the stupid requirement to drive a push pin out to remove the grip. Grip removal is a routine cleaning task to me, and should be able to be done with a screwdriver, not a punch and hammer. I kinda wonder about wear and tear on the frame...

    4506-1 Price check and Service.

you guys getting a 4506 in 98% condition, in the box for 500 or 550 are doing really well. The ones I see lately on Gunbroker go for much more than that.

    4506-1 Price check and Service.

The later ones have the black MIM trigger and hammer. Black trigger and hammer always have the 10mm frame style. The early ones have the stepped frames.

    Difference in 4506 and 4506-1

OK, I read this thread pretty fast, so maybe I have it wrong here. It can't be a situation of using up old 4506 no dash frames since the no dash frames are all stepped. His frame is not stepped, so it has to be the newer 4506-1 ( 1006 style frame) , So, it looks like a 4506-1 gun with a...

Be on the lookout for my lost/stolen 3rd Gen parts

The P.O. gets away with stuff that a private company would go out of business doing. We had our mailman stealing items from us. I ordered some computer parts from Ebay. I tracked them on the P.O. web page, so I knew the exact day they were being delivered. They showed "out for delivery" from our...

    645 vs. 4506

I would prefer having a separate mainspring housing, and 4 grip screws of the 645 compared to the 4506 and its mainspring held by the plastic grip and grip that is held by a punch pin . I don't like the 4506 delicate sideplate assembly that the grip fits around either. And yeah, I have a 4506...

    645 vs. 4506

The 645 has an aluminum mainspring housing? I did not know that.

    Found a S&W 645

Nice. IMO, one thing that is better with the 2nd Gen over the 3rd, is the good ole grip screws. Yep, you don't have to grab a punch and hammer to drive a pin out to take the grips off like you do with the stock grips, and risk bending the side plate assembly that the grips go around. Maybe its...
