    S&W Model 38 Airweight Problem

I am looking for some advice regarding my model 38 Airweight. I had a case head separation last night and now my pistol refuses to work in single action for two of the five chambers. Double action works fine for all five chambers. Sounds to me like a part got screwed up but what part? Any...

    S&W Model 38 Airweight .38 Spcl.

Gents, I have read the posts about adjusting the yoke screw in order to loosen up the cylinder BUT that really didn't work in my case. Yes, with the screw/bolt all the way out the cylinder does swing out of the frame easier but still not like I think it should. Certainly not like any of my...

Anyone with experience buying from a Cabela Gun Library?

I have bought several from the Cabelas gun library. In at least two instances they had to be shipped from one Cabelas store to the one nearest to me. It has been my experience that 10% comes off the advertised price quickly. Anything else requires some work as there seems to be limits as to...

    Model 38 Followed me home

Found a model 38 (no dash) at a gun show today and it just called out to me. It has a pinned barrel but the chambers are not recessed. It is wearing Hogue grips and I would say it is in "good" condition as there is a fair amount of holster wear on the edges. The serial number looks a little...

    .45 acp Pet Loads

5.0 grains of Bulls Eye with a cast 230 grain LRN has worked for me for years in both my Colt Government Model and New Service Revolver. I've tried other powders but settled on Bulls Eye because my guns like it and works.

What is your favorite single stack 9mm?

My S&W 39-2 is my favorite single stack... but my Browning HP will out shoot it.

    model 53 question

You really are going to have to reload if you want to shoot your new Jet. Hornady occasionally makes the original .222 bullet that was made for the Jet but they are really hard to find. I managed to get a few through Graf and sons reloading and also stocked up on brass. Some of the .223...

Do you have a favorite brand of primers?

Winchester primers seem to work best in my Dillon presses. Otherwise I like CCI and have used them for years and years. Got to say that the Federal and Remington primers I've used have all gone bang too.

Colt Detective Special vs S&W Chiefs Special?

This one is easy for me. I have big hands so the DS gets my vote. My wife has a CS and it is a fine, fine weapon but just sort of gets swallowed up in my hands. I've had a DS since '72 and love it.

Old Eyes - Anyone Painting Front Sight? What Color?

Seems funny to be checking out the finger nail polish clearances but..... it works. Easy on, easy to remove. Lasts a long time. I've tried several colors but bright red on the front site seems to work best for me and sometimes I put a white outline on the rear site. The contrast between the...

Do you REALLY believe in the 2nd Amendment?

Yes, I believe in the 2nd Amendment. I also think that there are times when some people OC just trying to start an argument and that just inflames the anti gun crowd and media. I am not opposed to OC, it is your right. Generally, I am just as happy to CC. Just my 2 cents on the subject.

    Tobacco Pipes

I smoke a pipe every day and have for years. Yes, it is a "nasty" habit but I gave up the cigarettes a lonnnng time ago. I just enjoy my pipe too much to give it up. No, I don't buy expensive pipes and have a tendency to think of them as disposable. People tell me that pipe smoke reminds them...

    Another Range Experience

Exactly why I built my own range and don't go to public ranges anymore. Give some thought to going in with a few good friends and buying a couple of acres in the country. Building a range isn't all that complicated and it will give you a lifetime of enjoyment.

    Bail Bond Agents/Bounty Hunters ?

I agree that they should be held to the same standard as police officers. I'm surprised you don't hear more about them getting their stuff blown away after getting the address wrong and breaking into someone's home.
