Correct.. But In 1959, ArmaLite sold its rights to the AR-10 and AR-15 to Colt due to financial difficulties.. At any rate, my point stands.. ALL other AR 15's are copies of an original design (with some variations depending on model, maker etc..).. In short.. to say not to buy a knock off...

But in all fairness.. by that logic, we'd all be shooting/owning Colt AR-15's not S&W sports..
