    New Avatar

Great idea. I like it. Is there any way to enlarge an avatar to see it better?

    Cylinder swaps

You will need a cylinder and possibly the hand. Sometimes the same hand will work with both 6 and 7 shot cylinders, sometimes each one needs it's own. It all depends on how the ratchets were cut on each cylinder. You can shoot ICORE with a 7 shot gun if you want.

    Hammer Bobbing...opinions, please.

Looks like they need to put hammers on all the Glocks.

    Hammer Bobbing...opinions, please.

Given the same mainspring tension, a bobbed hammer will hit harder than a same kind of spur hammer, due to the increased speed.

Good Shooting Caps for Ear Muffs

I had the problem of the button on top of the hats, so I used a pair of side cutters (wire cutter), slid them under the buttons and pried them off. Takes about a minute.

    Hammer Bobbing...opinions, please.

This whole thing is more complicated than it seems on the surface. Pizza Bob shows us the math. It turns out that is correct, but with limitations. If you keep the same spring pressure, the lighter hammer will travel faster and hit harder. But the purpose of the action job is to make the...

    Stubborn K Frame Sideplate

Take it off, put magic marker around the bottom part where it contacts the frame, on the edge of the sideplate. Put the sideplate back on the gun and tap it down with a rubber mallet or something non marring. Take it back off and see where the marker was rubbed off by contact with the frame. Use...

    My first ICORE match

We had an ICORE match yesterday at Mill Creek Rifle Club near Kansas City. I somehow lucked into a 2nd place finish in Open class. There were 37 guns, 28 shooters, 9 of them shot 2 guns. We are having the IRC (ICORE Nationals) here from Oct. 24 thru Oct. 26. There will be a $40,000 prize table...

    Frame-barrel gap

When they make the barrels, there is a round part that contacts the front of the frame, then a .002 or .003 step for clearance, outside of the circle. They are all made like that intentionally. If you look at a barrel that's not on a gun, you can clearly see it. All one piece barrels are like that.

It's hard to give an estimate without even a picture to go by. Not enough information.

    Smolt

The barrel gets re threaded from 32 to 36 threads per inch. I have only done older barrels with the 2 pin front sight. Some sources say that the newer 1 pin front sight barrels have the same threads as S&W. I don't have 1st hand knowledge if that is correct.

.38 Regulation Police hit-or-miss cylinder rotation

Could there be a spring on the sideplate (maybe missing?) to hold the hand forward? We can't see what the inside of the sideplate looks like.
