Those targets are bizarre, so I have to say BS.
The bottom, second from the bottom and top targets have decent groups in the black and then "flyers" all around the outside part of the white?
That doesn't make sense.
Ummm, the loss doesn't negate itself as you sell more, it multiplies! Reminds me of the saying "Well, we are losing $5/ea, but we'll make it up on volume". ;)

This is interesting.
I was receiving a large group of LE pistols a few weeks ago and noticed that the serial number prefixes (the letter part) varied WIDELY. The receivers were clearly from two different batches.
Not sure of the cause. I assumed maybe they were just using a batch of "old"...
You are extraordinarily observant!
Their is no LE SKU for the Shields. That is why they are 180020/1 respectively and why they only come with two magazines. The Shield is such a hit, S&W hasn't yet created a LE specific SKU with three magazines or the extra QC steps. But, they sell the...
Regardless of what you think is happening, those are not FET out guns. If they are, then it is a violation of federal law. Whether a particular LE gun is tax out or in is indistinguishable by the packing it comes in. It's tax status appears to only be known to S&W, the ATF and God.
What you...
The LE SKUs (generally the 3XXXXX SKUs, both rifle and pistol) undergo additional QC steps over the non-LE SKUs.
The LE guns sold to individual officers have the FET paid on them. The ONLY guns exempt for FET tax are guns sold to state/local AGENCIES (oddly, federal agencies pay the FET tax on...
You're certainly welcome.
One note: We generally ship all orders within 24 hours of receipt. As you all can imagine, we are selling a bunch of these M&P9C mags, so shipping me take a couple days.
We have plenty on-hand to service all orders.
