What's this ad doing on the forum?

Wow - selling yourselves for 30 pieces of silver? Whoring yourselves out for a bit of profit? Where's the self-respect? Wouldn't it send more of a message to refuse to run their propaganda, money be damned? I wonder how many people log on here for the first time, maybe ready to be convinced...

So what have you read recently? what are reading?

Another good series (I'm laid off, plenty of time to read!) - the "Repairman Jack" novels by F. Paul Wilson. Jack is a sort of urban mercenary, with an X-files feel to the novels. Great!

So what have you read recently? what are reading?

I've always valued "leisure reading" in addition to more serious stuff. It helps to not always have to think about serious things all the time. Anyway I found an interesting series of novels, the "Hit Man" series by Lawrence Block, to be a great escape. I think there's 4 books in the series...

Reading the Bob Lee Swagger series of novels, including the Earl Swagger novels, by Stephen Hunter. Great books by a true "Gun guy." One of the Bob Lee Swagger novels, "Point of Impact" was made into a movie, "The Shooter," a few years back, starring Mark Wahlberg.

The ultimate Sigma picture thread thingy!

Wow - now I'm embarrassed to say I've never considered one of these. But I like the looks. I've got my SW 3913 (which is all I can afford right now - unemployed) but have been considering (i.e., daydreaming about)an M&P 9c (or 40c). Why have the Sigmas gotten a bad rap? Are there quality issues?

    659 Price check

I used to own one of these, back in the late '80s. Sold it in early '90s in order to buy my 3913. It was nice looking, all stainless, but had a few quirks. The adjustable sights would come out of alignment often, and the ambi decocking lever would work itself loose after 50 -100 rds or so.

    pics of my new compact

Dude you should delete this post (thus protecting your trade secret) and open your own business...say $10 per gun to turn the lettering red, and only $5 for a re-application...think of the possibilities...

I noticed that right away too - looks cool.

    A good little carry gun

I've owned one since the early '90s; carried it every day since I got my CPL in Dec 2008. Mine looks a little different, has the stainless trigger and hammer.

    Favorite 9mm carry gun?

I guess it's just me, but "Made In America" still matters, still means something to me. And my 3913 just plain looks way better than any Bloc.

    Which 1911?

Maybe it's just me, but I think mentioning the price of all these fine pistols everyone is uploading would be a good idea, since OP mentioned lowest price possible as the prime consideration. I took it that he doesn't want to be spending multiple thousands of $$ on a pistol just so he can brag...

    S&W 3913

Hehe - yep - I saw it too late. I haven't had my coffee yet. SORRY. Okay, now all I have to do is save my pennies.

    S&W 3913

Thanks! Checking it out - don't have the $$ right now but my el cheapo holster is wearing out so I need to do something fairly soon.

In praise of the 3913 LS

I just noticed this, only a month or so late! Which Galco holster? I desperately need a good holster for my 3913, been using a Black Hawk (or is it Uncle Mike's?) el cheapo. Whatever, it was about $12.95. Pictures, please!!

    Do You Intervene?

This is the key, in my opinion. The CPL doesn't make you a cop, and too many people seem to think it does. Just stay out of it, especially if you're not trained to handle it. (Oh and going to the range once in awhile doesn't count as "Trained to handle armed criminals"). If your life (or...
