I Wish I Knew More About Old S&Ws

^^^ What Guy said. 32s seem "hot" right now, however, I do not own one. Good luch. The fun is in the learning and searching. You have a bunch of (blasted) enablers here, but a really good crowd.

    U return Spring

To be berfectly honest guys, I have never fired this gun nor had the sideplate off. If I feel adverturous in the next day or 2, I may dig the gun out of the safe and remove the sideplate.

Did S&W make a Grip Adapter for K Frames in the 1930’s?

IIRC there was one for sale at the recent SWCA Symposium in Concord, NC, but I don't remember the price. You could post a "wanted to buy" here in the classifieds.

    U return Spring

I have a Kansas City, MO, non registered magnum which was returened to the factory for a refurb. It apparently came back with the "U" spring. The date of the factory refurb was May, 1947.

Capt. Van Zandt's Registered Magnum #1158

A little more Van Zandt history. The 1930 US census show Van Zandt operating a "speak easy" in Pecos, Texas, shown above. When I first read articles about Van Zandt roping mountain lines, I assumed this was a "tall tale". However, later I rand across an article listing him as showing films...

Capt. Van Zandt's Registered Magnum #1158

The well used RM and it's infamous ower were the subject of my 2025 SWCA Symposium display in Corcord, NC, in June. This revolver may deserve two distinctions: possibly the only one D B Wesson ever agreed to sell on post dated check, and secondly, possibly the only one to participated in the...

    A burgeoning interest in pre-war N-frames (HD,OD & M1926)

I went down that same rabit hole: 1st & 3rd model 44s, and finally the pre war magnums. I have a couple of LEO agency pre war heavy duties stashed but somehow missed out on the OD itch.

Baughman "Quick Draw" front sight drawings

A couple of years ago, a couple of hand drawings done by Frank Baughman of his proposed ramp front sight were posted. I have run a few searches but cannot find them. Can anyone repost these, please?
