With your lower open, take one of your mags and see if the red tab is pushing the bolt release all the way up. With the bolt release up, the bolt will stay open on an empty mag. The first picture is with the tab pressed down by the bolt release and the second picture is the tab pushing the bolt...

You should be able to email S&W customer support. They might send you a replacement free of charge.

I registered just to post a reply. I also got mine a couple of weeks ago at BassPro after getting my order cancelled once due to no inventory. The second time around, I managed to snag one in time before it went out of stock minutes later. Exact same model as you got. I Have not been able to...
