If you've followed my last few posts you know I've been trying to decide what to do with my 4006 and the factory adjustable sights. Well I no longer have to decide.
Through the generosity of a few folks here, some serious searching for parts and spending some time fitting and finishing I've...
So last year I picked up a 4006 after not having one for years. I bought a 4006 just a few months after they were released back in 1991 and kept it for a few years then traded it off for a Sig 229. The one I had back then and the one I recently purchased are the adjustable sights models. I've...

I've been away from S&W for many years. I sold my 4006 back in 1996 to buy a Sig P229 and I've pretty much been a Sig guy ever since.
Last...
That is definitely a faulty magazine. It should not have any give at the seams. If it is a new rifle contact S&W and they'll replace it. If you bought it used you can get new magazines for less than $20 at several places.
As for the feeding issue, when you load the magazines make sure you are...
Looks like things at Millet have changed a lot over the past couple decades.
Back in about 1991 when I got my first S&W 4006, I was able to order Millet sights that were long enough in the base to allow me to completely remove the adjustable sights shroud and just use the long base on the...
