    915 vs. 910 -- no lug on 910 barrel?

I so agree. I have a 910 and a 411. Love 'em both but prefer the 910's look

    S&W 411 ??Novak

Novak used to make a sight that would fit a 1911 slide with no milling involved. Milling with a file involves a lot of patience and good workbench and level and the first time the teeth chatter you'll likely have a proverbial heart attack.

    3rd Gen 5906/5946 question

Nice dialog John, nice job on the qualifiers in your instructions. This sounds like an interesting conversion. The only thing I have done similar is many many years ago I needed a double action only steel frame semi-auto in .45 ACP. I chose a very nice Astra A-80 ( some would quip that there...

    S&W model 39

If you can only have one HANDGUN ... what would it be?

I have a S&W model 659 that would be my first choice of bugout gun. It's the one I work with the most, durable, have spare parts for, and feeds everything.

    Greetings from New Mexico

I've owned and traded a great many guns but I have never been without a Smith & Wesson since 1974. Love the history, love the finish, and am even becoming fond of the polymer. I look forward to perusing through the threads and salivating over pictures of coveted models from years past. After 33...

    908

I'm in the same boat about resurrecting old threads but my favorite handgun is a Model 39-2 purchased in 2008 to replace the one I had purchased in 1977 as a rookie policeman ( of course I messed up and traded for a bigger caliber 1911A1) I have a S&W 659 and 910, but a 908 would make my day.
