Fixed my trigger issues by having the Apex kit installed. My Shield is now my favorite carry gun. The kit took the trigger pull from an inconsistent 7.5 lb pull to a smooth, consistent 4.5 lb pull. Accuracy now is much better.

I have 500+ rounds through mine and the trigger still is unacceptable. Thinking about buying the new Ruger LC9S. Hope your trigger gets better.

The shield RSA is a lousy design in my opinion. Also the trigger on these leaves something to be desired. I sent mine to Smith twice with little improvement on the trigger. I will have to get an Apex kit or get rid of the gun. Can't believe Smith can't come up with a better trigger and a...

Thanks for the info. We booked the hotel through the NRA. I have already pre registered. Hoping my legs hold up. Just had hip replacement surgery 3 weeks ago. Hopefully there will be some areas to sit down occasionally. Looking forward to it.

What all did you send it back to Smith for? Mine is at Smith for the second time because the trigger pull is hard and inconsistent. It came back the first time somewhat better, but still really inconsistent. The inconsistency is what is bad. If it pulled hard everytime, I probabably get used...

The trigger pull in my Shield 9 is the worst trigger pull of all my handguns. It is at Smith right now for the second time. I am hoping they will make the trigger better this time around. Glad to hear some of you have good guns.

Might look at the new Ruger LC9S. My wife is considering it. It is easy to rack and has one of the best triggers. If I didn't own a Shield, I would be purchasing one of these for myself.

Don't know anything about the other guns, I know the Shield has no positive location (flat) on the barrel to positively locate the spring assembly....plus the spring assembly is a cheap looking thing. On my shield you just keep guessing and putting it together over and over until you get it...

Can you clarify what you mean by end of coil being at 6 oclock or straight up. I am having the same issue. Thanks!
