Thinking to buy a Mod 76 SMG -opinions?

There are several suppliers around that have newly made replacement parts for the 76. They are a fairly simple design and were designed to be used under less than stellar conditions. The literature for them, for example, says they may be cleaned with any liquid. They are also just great fun!

    S&W Model 76 - Anyone own one??

Money into Noise A 76 is just great fun, turns money into noise very efficiently. Mine eats most anything you feed it and is fairly accurate for what it is. Simple construction with readily available parts. The prices continue to climb, most selling now for over 10K. All of them are C&R eligible.

Have I been doing this wrong all these years?

I have always cleaned cylinders from the rear. It would seem there is less chance of getting foreign material into the works that way. Not sure if that is the correct method however.

    Maintenance question

I always pull the side plate on any new to me revolver, who knows what may lurk in the innards; especially of an older, well used piece. An ultrasonic cleaner will get gunk out of places you did not know existed and then put lube back in there. The ultrasonics work especially well on stainless...

Mad rush for the original Bulldog .44

One of my favorite carry guns since they first came out, big power in a very compact revolver. I use the old 246 grain load most of the time. The few times I have tried loads with more oomph, the revolver is just too small and lightweight to handle them comfortably, the recoil can be ferocious.

    M76

The one I have is very controllable and just great fun to shoot. I have been shooting reloaded all lead 9 mm in it as well as brass and steel FMJ. It consumes everything I have fed it so far as long as the magazines are properly fitted. No open bolt machine gun is very accurate but this one can...

    S&W model 76....

I've had one for a few months and can confirm they are both reliable and an immense amount of fun to shoot. Very controllable in full auto. Mine will eat anything I feed it so far including the Wolf steel cased 9mm. The biggest problem is affording enough ammo to keep it going. New parts are...

    Is this a S&W 76 mag?

They do not look like the mags from my 76. The mag walls for that are straight in this area and the shape is triangular looking from the top. I can't tell from your pics how the mags are shaped.
