I've primarily owned Glocks and seem to function well with long periods between cleaning.
I'm just curious if a 3913 requires a little more love and care.
Admittedly though, the fit and finish on a 3913 seems to leave a desire to give it more attention just because of the color. Black hides...
I got mine a little more than a year ago and was experiencing repeated light primer taps with varying ammo. Even after repeated cleaning and lubes, it was continuing.
I sent it off to S&W and I haven't had a problem since it's been returned.
The only thing I notice is assembly pin creep...
When I first got my BG380, I had constant light primer taps using various ammo. I cleaned and lubed with no relief. I shot past 200 rounds continuing to get the problem.
I shipped it back to S&W and have not had any problems since it was returned.
Recommendation taken.
The Numrich site has a number of recoil springs (part 59).
Which should I pick?
Recoil spring (nothing specified)
16 pound
17 pound
18 pound
20 pound
Thanks again.
Looking for advice on cause.
I took my 3913 and my 3913LS to range the other day. Both are recent purchases of used guns.
The 3913 is sweet. The 3913LS has been a bit of a hassle.
I noticed the 3913LS jumping a lot more than the 3913 using the same ammo. The 3913LS looks a lot dirtier...
Great walk-thrus
Have you considered just doing the work yourself? There are a LOT of great resources out there to do most things.
I couldn't handle the smith times either and ended up getting parts to do it myself. I reconditioned my 3913 myself and it gave me a much better understanding of...
I picked up a 3913LS for the wife but she is a lefty.
I'm wondering if I can flip the magazine release to the other side?
Also, any help on how to get or find a way to have a decocker added on the other side too. I thought I saw somewhere someone saying getting the part related to a 6906...
Thanks for the quick responses guys. I guess it comes down to personal preference then.
ColbyBruce - I have the one in your top picture and just prefer the trigger and hammer matching to the slide. And I changed out the grip to the grey grip. Hahaha. I may change it back.
My search continues...
I'm trying to get my hands on a 3913LS for the wife and noticed that some versions have a black trigger and hammer while other versions have a stainless trigger and hammer.
Can anyone tell me which is older? If there's any difference? Does it really matter other than preference?
Thanks.
I got them from Numrich and am having the same issue. I assume they are being stored open in the warehouse.
I'll try the dishwashing liquid and a nylon brush.
I picked up some 3913 grey grips that need to be cleaned before putting them on the gun.
I've used Hoppes 9 and a toothbrush but they still don't look great.
Any help would be appreciated.
