    Fragility of Mother of Pearl Stocks: Real, or Perceived?

    I had a 1920 Colt Government model with MOP stocks. The very first shot a large chip broke off at the screw hole. They were slightly loose, and I didn't realize it. I think them being slightly loose is what caused the break.
