    Let's talk Derringers

They are fun to play with, but not in my experience not much fun to shoot. I was fascinated with them when I was in high school because of a book series that I was reading, and when older bought the first one I could. All four barrels shot to different points of aim, and two barrels would not...

    Lobo Leather New Owners

I had a minor issue with my order from them a while back right when they first took over. Turns out that my payment had never gotten credited to the order and it got cancelled, but they got it sorted out and my little 2x2x4 44 mag pouch looks great and works like a champ.

Why do I see so many used SD9VEs for sale?

This was my observation. The ones that I have handled worked perfectly but had hard, heavy trigger pulls.

FS: Spegal Model 12 Skinny frame checkered boot grips

Greetings all, Offered for sale is one set of Craig Spegal checkered boot grips in S+ grade Cocobolo wood for early Model 12s with the skinny round butt frame. I ordered these for a buddy of mine who I thought had a round butt 12-2 but turns out that it is actually a square butt. These were...

    Grail gun - FOUND

Congratulations! I love mine, but rarely shoot it because the Guttersnipe sight doesn't really work well for my eyes.

    .44 Special

This combo has given good results for me in all my .44 spls. Not really hot, but solid, and can sting when fired from the lightweight guns. I have had a couple vintage Bulldogs that were very ammo finicky. Both shot better with fatter lead bullets sized .430-.432 instead of .429 lead or any...

Effectiveness of "FBI" 38 Special ammunition?

We tested the Winchester .38 +p LSW-HP load that they local sheriffs office was issuing back in '91 or '92 and it would not shoot through the doors nor the tailgate of a wrecked Ford pickup that someone donated us parts of for testing against. We shot those, .45 acp 230 Federal Hyrda shock, and...

I think I've gone and bought a Frankengun. Update! Range report post #55

I would have bought it in a heartbeat. .45 Auto Rim is the way to go unless you either already have a bunch of .45 ACP around or just don't want to bother with reloading. I think it is a cool old gun myself.

    Model 547

wwhhhatttt?? I have several HKS for them, but I never knew they made a Comp II. Never even saw a reference to one.

Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops, and their new policies...

The Bass Pro buyout of Cabela's has really had a terrible effect on our local Cabela's particulary with the used guns; selection is down and prices are up. I have gotten some fabulous deals there in the past (a real ASP 39-2 with holster and spare mag, a 4 digit Detonics Combat Master with all...

    Model 31-1 3" price?

.32s are all over the place here but generally don't bring the prices that their .38 cousins would. I would expect that to be a $400-450 gun here, but I have seen them in VG condition as low as $275-300.
