Whats the benefit of having a removable base?

Did anyone else receive AK mags from Landos instead of 15-22 like we ordered? I emailed them about the mess up, hopefully they correct this! EDIT: Lanbo is taking care of the issue very professionally. I definitely recommend this retailer.
