My 617 has Ahrends Retro Targets round to square conversion stocks. DS-10 speedloaders work very well with these grips.

Last weekend I saw a S&W Model 18-4 which was stamped as such on the yoke. The cylinder and barrel were 22 cal mag.The barrel was so stamped.Was this revolver sent from the S&W factory as a model 18 or was it supposed to be stamped as model 48? I do not have the serial number but can get it if...

Stanley,you need the first part of the serial number to date it. KXXXX will do it. Yes there is a book to do this,Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson by Jim Supica & Richard Nahas. Was on sale at Amazon,com.

First post.New to me,model 36 S&W revolver serial # J 78 578.Would like to know how old this gun is.I know there are books you can buy this purpose,but I have one gun. I shoot ATA trap,so I'm a shotgun person.Perrazi,Ljutic,Remington and Browning trapguns.My shooting partner is getting a 4" M19...
