I grip the slide with my palm over the slide and push the grip forward, releasing my grip on the slide at the end of travel. The slide stop isn't engaged when doing this. I have a slight concern with my new Shield. When chambering the first round, fresh eight round mag, the slide does not fully return without a little push. It hangs with about 1/8" hanging over the frame. It takes very little to push it forward to full seat it. I haven't shot it yet, just cleaned...

In the case that you do have a mouse with the ball, remove the ball and clean it well with soap and water. Look at the rollers in the mouse. They will probably have dark lines on the rollers. Use your fingernail or a pocketknife to scrape away the dark lines which is actually a gummy build up...

Such a shame when this happens. I love watching the old war birds. A couple of years ago, a guy attempted to take off with an Avenger and it burst into flames. He got out but was badly burned and the Avenger was a total loss.

I don't usually like additives but I bought something called 'Star-tron' and I really like it. I saw where some guys on a tractor forum were using and recommended it. I've used it in my tractors, snowblower, and '98 Dodge pickup. I would guess that Stabil's Ethanol treatment is very similar.

Gotta agree with the lead free cloth on the stainless guns. I use one on the 617 and 686. I just picked up one at the gun shop/range and I'm not sure of the brand.
