I have one on layaway. PICK IT UP TOMORROW! Pretty much identical to yours. 66-1, Pinned and recessed, left side roll mark, 2.5 inch barrel with red ramp. Texas DPS Trooper pistol number 28043 on the lt side. Will post the picture as soon as I pay it out.

I have a 66-2 2.5 on layaway. It has a Texas DPS number on the side. Can't wait to get it out and see if I can find any info on it.

I have my hopes on a 66-1 short barrel I found in a local pawn shop. Has a Dept of Public Service number (State Police) on it.

I joined just for this thread Here it is. Brought it home today. Model 66 no dash serial number 2k74###. It seems to sport all the right stainless parts. Some guys brag their gun has never been fired. This one has never been cleaned. The brown stuff is not rust, I hope it is coffee and not...
