    629-5 V Comp 5"

A very good friend left me a 629 V-Comp in his will. I was astonished to receive what looks like a brand new revolver. While it does not have a box or papers, it was accompanied by the wrench for the compensator, the non-compensated barrel extension, wood combat style grips, and original Hogue...

    S&W 629 Mountain Revolver

Thank you all for the great information and photos. I bought my 629 Mountain Gun in 1996. As others have mentioned, it is a gun I have carried often, but tend to shoot sparingly. That said, it is a very accurate revolver and is pleasant with .44 Specials. I chose Spegel Boot Grips for carry...

What's your "last gun of the year"?

Last 2 of 2011 I bought these about a week apart in November. Both of them were on my "must have" list for too long. I am glad I was able to check them off! S&W Model 41 5" Field Colt Python 6" Royal Blue

Any reviews on current Model 29 classics??

I bought one late last year. I only have 100 or so rounds through it, but it shoots very well so far. The action is smooth and the finish is pretty nice. I thought the stocks were OK, but changed them out for an old pair of Bear Hug Skeeter Stocks.

    29 Classic 5"

Does anyone have photos of the 1990s era 29 Classic with a 5" barrel? I had one, but sold it off years ago. As with most of my gun sales, I regret letting it go. At the time, I didn't care for the fully underlugged barrel and sold it to get something else, but wish I had kept all the blue...

Your screen name, what does it mean.

Mine refers to the battle between the British Army and the Zulus. The bravery on both sides of this conflict made a huge impression on me. I just wish I had spelled it right-Rorke's Drift.
