    Rosewood magnas?

We picked these up in a junk box at a gunshop some time ago. They fit an N Frame Smith & Wesson revolver perfectly. Can any of you perhaps date these by the type, and location of the medallions, and grip screw estructions (lousy spelling), and the fact that they are even with the wood? Has...

    RM JUST SOLD ON GUNBROKER

I almost got in on this RM because of the barrel length. Then I saw the buggered side plate screws, and wondered why the front of the rear sight protruded further on the top strap than I thought it should. Also I agree on the grips looking slightly spooky. But overall, I must agree nice...

Pick up super early pre 36 Chiefs Special new photos

Great gun, at a super price. I would grade its condition more between 95%, and 98%. You may want to get a letter on that one. Low serial number guns often went to a special person.

    Kearsarge question

I just posted pictures of a pair of Kearsarge target grips on an Colt Officers Model on the Colt forum. They do have the initials of the owner carved into them.

Help please, Roper grip info *More PICS added* 10/25

We have several sets of Roper stocks, and in some cases value them as highly as the revolver they are on. Most all were custom made to fit the shooters hand. A couple pairs of Roper stocks we have are not comfortable in my hand at all as the palm swell varied so much to fit the shooter. One...

New Model 3 nickel - Questions?

Have you guys ever heard of this part of the medical Hippocratic oath? "First Do No Harm". This revolver is not in our usual collecting genre, so should we decide to sell it after the letter arrives, I think leaving any spiffing up of the finish can wait, as it has been probably been like this...

New Model 3 nickel - Questions?

After receiving your information, and reading serial number texts in one of our Smith & Wesson books, I agree this particular gun was probably shipped to Japan. It must have been brought back by the elderly ladies husband after WWII, who took it off a dead Jap servceman. From their...

New Model 3 nickel - Questions?

Thanks for your info. If this went to Japan would it not have some Japanese acceptance marks on it somwhere. We see no rework, or other marks on it anywhere. I was amazed to see another nickel one on GunBroker, that has the lanyard ring, and the serial #22531 is less than 500 off ours. I...

New Model 3 nickel - Questions?

Thank you for your answer. It does seem to be chambered for 44 Russian, although there are no caliber marks on the gun. No rework, or Japanese markings. We are requesting a letter from Roy Jinks to see where this went originally, and why the lanyard ring. The action works perfectly, and it...

New Model 3 nickel - Questions?

A kindly old lady brought this New Model 3 revolver into one of my favorite gun shops. It is not in our normal collecting area, so any help you can give us on it will be much appreciated. I am going to send off a letter request, but that can now take a month or two Serial number #23003...

Perils of an auction. (It Finally Came)

I agree on the Fed/X. We have shipped over fifty pistols over the years, thinning the collection from time to time. Fed/X priority overnight is the way to go. It is also the only ATF approved way for a private party to ship a handgun.
