I don't know if it is loose. The cylinder will not release. it is stuck closed.

The gun was clean. Shot 60 or so rounds yesterday. The cylinder became difficult to open. I thought the gun just needed cleaned. After cleaning the problem persists. Release lever is pushed, the cylinder is stuck closed. Any thoughts?

Did these come with aluminum or alloy cylinders? I read there were some problems with the aluminum cylinder, so so I wonder if there was a change to alloy. Any issues with the alloy cylinder?

Did any model 17- come drilled and trapped? S and W started drilling and tapping some models in 1995, from what I read.

I want to have a red dot sight on a revolver. I am open to suggestions as to a pre-lock model that I could buy that is drilled and tapped. I agree with you, to drill and tap my 17-6 would not be wise.
