A quick update: I got the gun back from S&W on Tuesday with a note saying REPLACED BOLT, REPLACED FIRING PIN. Took it to the range last night and it's back to normal. Kudos to S&W service. The whole process was very smooth and reasonably fast.

I've put an honest 8,000 rounds through my 15-22 since picking it up in July, 2011 and it has been remarkably reliable. I put two 100 round packs of CCI Mini-Mags through it when I first got it, but it has since been fed Federal 550 bulk packs from Wal-Mart exclusively -- and without any issues...

I've sighted my [cheap Chinese] scope at 50 yards and regularly shoot paper at 100 yards and rocks on the berm at a few yards beyond that with fantastic accuracy and I'm not a particularly skilled shooter (YET!)

DVW6XXX purchased last Thursday. Put 1800 rounds through it between two range trips on Saturday & Sunday and could not be happier with its performance.

My experience has paralleled yours exactly. Went through 2 boxes of Fed 550 without any problems and had 3 or 4 FTEs halfway through a box of Win 555, which also contained several with loose crimps. Fed 550 from here on out.
