    1911 condition 3- US Military

A Need For Condition One As a 2nd class PO in the Navy in 1969 I was contacted one night by the DO to escort a prisoner to the brig in Philadelphia. He informed me to be careful as this same prisoner had previously escaped while being transported to the brig. He handed me a 1911 on a duty belt...

Picked up a rare rifle in Louisville over the weekend

Signature On Invoice It appears that the signature in Box 10 of the invoice is Roy Henry, a personal friend of mine who was working at Remington during that time frame.

I picked up an old single blade, faux ivory handle knife today, and the blade is marked "1 LEG HUNTER". Anyone know anything about it. Paid $12 for it. Did I get a deal ??

    Die Lubrication

Before We Had Carbide Dies I dumped a little graphite powder in a saucer about 1/8 inch deep. I then just dipped the mouth of the straight walled case (typically 38 Sp) into the graphite and resized the case.

Cartridge Overall Length for precision shooting

Determining Overall Length I determine optimum OL in my Remington 700 308 by inserting the bullet in an un-primed, un-sized case with minimal neck tension. When closing the bolt, the bullet will contact the lands and push it back into case. Carefully open the bolt and remove the cartridge and...

    185gr JHP in 45ACP-1000fps impossible

A Lighter Bullet Back when I was shooting IPSC with a 5" 1911 and a compensator, I was using 155 grain lead cast bullets at 1200fps using Clays powder. The light bullet at high velocity was necessary to make the comp work and make the old major requirement.

    Taurus TCP Suprise

TCP I have two Taurus TCP's one for the wife and mine. I actually reload 380's, so I don't hesitate to put 50 or more rounds through it on every trip to the range, likewise with the wife's TCP. After opening up the magazine lips a bit to allow the round to stand up a bit more, it has swallowed...

    357 Mag 158 gr SWC & 2400 - 1,200 fps load

13.5 gr of 2400 with a Oregon Trail 158 gr LSWC using magnum primers gave me 1150 fps in a 4 inch model 66. It's all I'd want to shoot !!

I need help BG380 vs LCP

Don't Overlook the TCP Do yourself a favor and try the trigger on a Taurus TCP next to a Ruger LCP. MUCH much better on the TCP. Also can fire the chambered round with the magazine out. Lifetime warranty. Made in Miami. I own two TCP's.

Which .380 to get for CCW.

Taurus 380 Don't overlook the Taurus 738 TCP. The trigger pull is lighter and smoother than the Ruger LCP. The slide also locks back on the last shot, and if the magazine is inadvertantly dropped with a round in the chamber, the gun will still fire. Not so with the Ruger LCP.
