    Received my order today. The Range Rod gauge that Brownells sells is for a .223 even though it says 22lr. It Measures .215. My barrel is .211. The chamfer gauge is also too big for the .211 barrel.

    I have ordered the tools from Brownells to chamfer the barrel on my S&W 617 .22. I just want to knock off the inside edge of the barrel. Can anyone tell me how deep the chamfer should be? Thanks!

    The mainspring hammer WAS backed out a little. I took everything apart and cleaned and lubed it. Polished the rebound block, put Wolf springs in. Everything is working smooth now. Still not as smooth as my 66, but pretty good. I wonder what it takes to swap out the hand for a 686-4 hand...

    It does have after market grips on it. So somebody might have tried adjusting the mainspring screw. I'll take a look. I plan on a complete cleaning and lube to slick it up a little.
