    Post War 357/Model 27

Thanks Dave! Did the extra quality and attention to detail stay with the 27 throughout it's entire run, or did it diminish over the years?

    Post War 357/Model 27

I'm interested in learning more about these early post war guns. Was the fit and finish of these better than the other S&W's of that era? Were the internals polished, tuned, or given special attention? Thanks

    Need help with engraver

The need for an FFL to leave a gun may depend on the state. When I had the stock engraved I did remove it from the rifle, but the shop owner who had it for several days didn't really care. Now this was SC where the law and/or attitudes are a little more lax than other places, you may not run...

    Need help with engraver

Also check trophy shops, they usually also do laser engraving from artwork. When my son became an Eagle Scout a couple years ago I bought a new .22 rifle and had his name and the Eagle Scout emblem laser engraved into the wood stock by a local awards/trophy shop. It came out beautiful and I...

    Slicking Up a Revolver(?)

Interesting take, especially since you've seen both. I wonder if this video could still be a good resource if you account/correct for a couple mistakes.

    Buffalo horn grips

Are they from Kimson Handicraft? I've been looking for buffalo horn grips for my K frame and they're one of the only sellers I could find. Not very expensive, would love to know if they're any good.

Yeah, he was criticized in the comments section for the pry job, but otherwise gets great reviews and has a loyal following.

Source for Real Buffalo Horn Grips

He seems to mostly work in elk, but there was a post about him doing some buffalo, so I'll check him out - thanks!

Source for Real Buffalo Horn Grips

I was thinking these would look good on a nickel K frame, but my search on the internet only shows large producers of cheap grips (most hits don't even have buffalo horn, real or faux). Any help or recommendations would be much appreciated - Thanks!
