Thank you OTF II for your reply. Not as old a revolver as i thought but still wondering if it will safely shoot todays ammo.

This revolver was given to me with other guns in my step dads cabinet i never paid it much mind until my daughter ask to learn to shoot a couple weeks back and showed interest in a lady smith so i figured she could step up to this 38 special after a 22lr.it has s/n c 119788 its on the butt...
