    new 629's pros and cons

Just got my 3" 629 Deluxe outta layaway yesterday. Have not gotten to shoot it yet, but fit, finish, and quality are top notch. Trigger is a bit heavy in DA, but the SA trigger is typical Smith crisp. Will mostly feed it Specials (sure wish they were more plentiful over the counter in my area)...

    Your thoughts on a 3" 629

just ordered a 3" Model 629 Deluxe yesterday, should be in next week. Probably going to feed it a steady diet of Specials. Just wanted a bigger bore than my .357's. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

    Looking to buy

A 586(blued) or 686 (stainless) with a three or four inch barrel is a great start, but they are a bit heavy. Another possibility is a Model 66 k-frame, bit smaller and lighter to carry or conceal. Sent from my K88 using Tapatalk

I need to hear about the 686 plus 3"

Forgot a pic, here is the 3 inch, and one of all three of my L frames. A 586-8 shipped 2 Nov 16 and a 686 no dash from around April 84 round out the trio. Sent from my K88 using Tapatalk

I need to hear about the 686 plus 3"

Not 100% certain, but I believe the cracked forcing cone issue on the older 66's was due to a thinner section of the forcing cone. I believe the newer 66's use a different cylinder lock up and the forcing cones are not thinner like in the past. As for a three inch 686, I have the 3" 3-5-7...

    possible trade?

appreciate the quick responses. I already have three AR's so no need or want for another. I believe I will pass on his offer. I actually got the ND 686 from him a year ago in a trade for a first edition Savage Mod 10 FCM Scout. I believe I got the better deal then, and will hang onto the 686...
