I am still having the same issues with mine after the first 300 rounds.
The action did smooth out a lot but the gun still malfunctions and also ejects empty shells at my face and forehead 100% of the time. Needles to say its going back to S&W today.
Not thoroughly, all I did was remove the slide, barrel and recoil spring and wiped them down with a clean rag and gave it a bit of oil before going to the range. Also oddly enough the gun functioned better today with tulla ammo(also 115 fmj) with far fewer ftfs but still ejected shells at my face.
I got a new sd9ve from academy on sale for $289 for the wife.
Took it to the range for the first time shooting Winchester white box 115 fmj and had malfunction after malfunction. All ftf no fte. The slide fails too lock back after last shot 80% of the time as well. Also the empty shells hit me...
This is pretty much exactly the same thing that I experienced.
So if this is the same round that the military uses what makes their M4s so special to be able to shoot this stuff?
Most rds keyhold at under 20 yards on to a piece of cardboard.
I cleaned the barrel, removed the flash hider but got the same results again.
After that I fired 42 rds of AE 55 grain xm193 which flew straight worked flawlessly.
But now I have to figure out what i'm going to do with 500 m855s...
Has anyone tried the American Eagle xm855 62 grain green tip ammo in there sport yet?
I shot about 200 rds of the stuff and it keyholes like a moe foe!
As the title says 223 ammo is drying up. Both tula and wolf run well in my rifle so that's what I mostly buy but lately it has become difficult to find. I drove 120 miles looking for ammo only to come home with 40 rounds of tula. I'm getting depressed about the whole thing now because I cant...
The Sport shoots the cheap stuff more accurately and more reliably than most if not all other AR's too the point where It dose not make sense to spend more than $6.00 on a box of ammo unless you just need a heaver round for hunting, Law enforcement etc.
Well guys if you haven't figured it out yet the tula works grate with the S&W sport because of its melonite barrel and 1 in 8 twist. The sport was made too shoot cheap stuff. I run Tula exclusively though my sport 2,500 rd+ and not a single problem.
Just add lots of lube;)
Before I got my M&P sport I was actually looking for a M16 style
rifle but couldn't find any. So why is this? Why doesn't S&W offer a M16 style? M4gys are everywhere but M16gys are few and far between.
