My EDC pistol. It took about two hundred rounds to break it in well but I love it. I have the .40 version too but it is definitely harder to handle. I truly love shooting this gun. I did upgrade to the APEX trigger. That improved the gritty feel of the factory trigger.
I don't do my own reloading and don't buy anything but commercial ammo by reputable companies. I guess, Ill keep blasting away with my .40 SW Shield. It gets better every time I take it to the range now that it is starting to break in. I'll let you all know if it ever goes kaboom and I live...
I've read a thread or two talking about instances of the MP .40 Shield blowing up on people. I have one and have about 400 rounds through it. Should I be worried? I really love this gun but would hate to get hurt or it failing on me since its my primary CCW.

I love my MP Shield .40
I have the .40. I use it as my primary. I bought the .40 because I had other handguns that are .40. I changed the trigger for an APEX trigger and haven't looked back. I love it. I imagine the 9mm would be a more pleasant gun to shoot and ammo is cheaper so it is...
MP Trigger Change
I think it is a personal choice. That said, I changed my trigger to the APEX trigger because I did not like the reset and pull weight on the stock trigger. It improved the accuracy considerably on mine with the new trigger. I have the .40S&W version that comes with the...
I have the .40 Shield. I did not like the stock trigger and upgraded it with the APEX kit and changed the sights while I was at it. It went from a good gun to a great one with the trigger upgrade. It is my primary CCW now. I bought it at a show for $350 so the upgrade wasn't too painful...
