Model 36 and Plus P Ammo

I have a pair of old Model 36's that I bought back in 1983. One was NIB and the other a Police Trade in made in 1960. Both are still functional and reliable. No way am I going to put +P ammunition through them.

What Old S&W Model and Issue?

Still a nice old piece. I’ve got one made in 1865, sitting in the safe. It came from an estate sale. $300.00 paid.

I LOVE Small Town Pawn Shops

In Columbia, SC and the surrounding area where I live Pawn Shops are a waste of time. They're way over priced and or mostly junk. The Local Gunshops and Gun Ranges are the places to find better deals.

    What is your age?

January 28th I will be 62 years old. I'm taking social security and going fishing, in between range trips.

How do you keep/store your S&Ws

Tom K. Brillant and some great craftmanship in the construction of the drawers. Definately some food for though concerning any future acquisitions I may have.

How do you keep/store your S&Ws

Safe Storage I store my revolvers in a Champion Medalist 22 safe. I use Bore Stores on a couple of antiques. The rest are Versatile Racks, which hold 10, 8 or 6 weapons of various sizes, unwrapped. Several of the non-shooters or Safe Queens have been coated with Renaissance...

Anyone else seen that poorly refinished .44 Russian DA on Gunbroker?

$1425??? I'm glad you posted the link. I was curious what it looked like. The "Winning' Bidder has 139 wins so far. I was expecting some newcomer with a lower number. Unless he's a collector with some bucks to blow I'd say that some where down the road someone is going to get a "good deal" on...

    lock work photos

Excellent photographs. When ever I take a old one apart I take loads of photos and notes. I've found the detailed work involved really interesting. They did some quality work back then. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Photos of your antique S&W Model Top Breaks

Old Top Break Nice work. You did some great work there. With a new front sight, grips and some work the Parts Gun could be restored. Thanks for your post.

Photos of your antique S&W Model Top Breaks

Not too heavy I ran into a "Real Collector" who was selling some top knotch stuff. A Mason Colt Conversion from around 1872 for $6,000. (He said he had two and was just clearing some stuff out). Not the average Gun Show vendor type. The numbers all match on this one. He had a couple of S&Ws a...

    Help IDing this pistol

Your are of course welcome. It doessn't look like a sock drawer storage and some one knew what they were doing in caring for it. I have a nice collection of originals and replicas that people have bought fired maybe one time, cleaned and put away for decades. Others that were never fired and...
