Hi Everyone, It has been a while since I have been on; however, here I am again. As much as I don't want to say it, my dad has asked that I put the pistol up for sale. Sooooo,,,,,, with that said, if anyone is interested and willing to make a reasonable offer, I am all ears. If you have any...

Hi everyone, Been a while since I posted on my own thread so here is the latest and greatest. I requested a letter from S&W which I got back the other day and they said This was one of 4 guns donated to Jessie Harpe in Tampa, FL by S&W on 20 January 1958 to be awarded at the 1958 Mid-Winter...

Nice piece!! I won't lie, even though have a really nice piece as well, I can't shoot it. Everything I have read says these are "tack drivers". Eventually I will have to buy one or find one that I can take on a test drive. Good luck on your letter and please let us know what it says. Cheers,

More pictures Here are a few more pictures. By the way when you look at the pictures closely, sometimes it looks like there is rust on the gun; however it isn't. I believe that my Uncle covered it with axel grease (typical for the time) and I haven't gotten it all off yet.

Great information on the letter changes. I wish I had been a little quicker. After 22 years in the Army, I am used to waiting. As far as my uncle being over seas, I know he was in Germany; however that is all I know. I will have to talk to my dad and see what he knows. I took off the grips...
