    148gr HBWC reloads in 38spl for a 52-2

2.7 gr. Bullseye This powder is fast burning. Recoil impulse is “instant”. We are not talking detonation; rather snappy. Smoke with alox lubed bullets is very noticeable. Old Speer manual would go as low as 2.5 grns., but check your spring. If using WST: has quite the odor. I notice a hanging...

Did Any Model 52-2s Ship With Barrel Weights as Standard Equipment?

Yes, I bought one Used but in fired at a shop complete with counterweight. My first one I bought in ‘75 did not have the weight so I bought one from Gil Hebard. The other 2 from gunbroker were gun only.

    S&W 52-2 value?

52-2 I understand 52s are going up in price. This masterpiece was “Performance Center” ahead of it’s time. My 952 is nothing like a 52-2. But still a good shooter. My last 52-2was new in box with all accessories to include counterweight. I absolutely need the weight or a red dot to increase...

Has anybody used .38 sp 125 gr HBWC?

Used to get them from Germany. Brand was (spelling.) Staedtler and Handemann. 125 HBWC. I developed a BE load for them, but went back to 148 Delta Precision

    Remington 38 HBWC?

Midway USA was selling them in 2000 bullet batches. Not always in stock. They are wonderful. But I'd go to precision delta and deal there

    The Best Target 9MM

I have a few 9s. X5 best for being heavy but I have all around model and sights are not to my liking. I had to put Nill grips on it to fit my hand. 2000$+ P210-6 is not heavy enough, sights not full target, but worth every penny of its $3K cost. 952-2 5" love that stainless. Reminds me of my...

    Model 52 disassembly instructions

Call Larry at LGI. Or mail it to him. He'll get you going with legal trigger weight. He did my Pardini SP22. Brownells has the exploded schematic. You'll need an Allen wrench as I remember. When you look inside with slide off one screw is the take up. But the trigger stop is the one you get thru...

    Remington 38 HBWC?

Factory Wadcutters I think we may be down to Fiocchi and Sellier & Bellot for new production. Correct me if I am wrong, but WW dropped 38 Super Match. Gun shows have NOS on occasion along w/ Rem. One comment on how dirty the Rem 148 HBWCs is true. But that's graphite! And lubes well. Precision...

What has happened to the .357 Magnum?

Kidd 44 got it right I load to max with my 686 and shoot rapid fire Double action, burning 2400 powder. I shoot 50 rounds and get small groups at 25 feet. It's more fun than sitting on the inside wall of the Indy 500 time trials like I did in the 70's. Great way to get and audience. Of course...

    Model 41 at LGS

Model 41 is a fine choice for occasional target work. I've owned 5 of them and have a cocking indicator version now with 4 barrels, plus a new 5" production with laminated panels. The 7" is wispy and has conventional adj. sights, not all all wide bladed as you find on a HS Victor or the even...

    Hodgdon 700-X

700-x in 38 Spec. Totally ok; 148gr. HBWC in my Model 52. Use data published by manufacturer. Only measure I use is RCBS l'il Dandy powder measure. Tap the hopper each time. Run a ground wire to a water pipe. Too messy in Dillon 650 ( bloopers ). It's really economical, too.

    S&W Model 39-2 Question

Lots of replies with great wisdom and forethought. A M39-2 near $500 seems way high. For instance, pawn shop 39s in a shooter's grade are $375. A collector's condition is priced emotionally. The black anodizing, once lost to wear or abuse. I bought a retired LE service weapon and love it. The...

How many magazines do you have?

    # of Mags M-52(x3) = 15. M-41(x2) = 6. Walther PPK = 5. M-952 = 5. M-39 = 3. No such thing as having too many magazines. Only thing is you never get you money back @ trading time. ;(

    New reloading press choice

Your new loader is a Dillon . . . I have the Dillon RL 550. It is slow as you have to index manually; but that makes it easy to clear out a boo-boo. You may not be able to see a small powder charge in 9mm or 45 cases. The powder metering system leaks the extra fine wafer style powders. If you...
