Plastic is Not forever. Fortunately it does last a very long time. You say nine years, but it’s likely 30+ years old. I’ve had one Third Gen floor plate break, a .45 when dropped at the range. And a SIG 9mm floor plate also, that one on concrete. Out of dozens of plastic floorplates.

The front strap is cut wrong, and the checkering can be soft.

After I wrote that I was thinking about cutting it for one of the Holosun SCS instead, as it’s the lowest optic I know of. But then you’re locked in to that cut. If I ever get a 3rd Gen cut I’ll look into the Dawson.

I'd buy a half dozen each 3953, 5943, and 4583 or 4586 w integral rail. Optic cut (AOS?) and threaded barrels would be nice options too.
