I emailed S&W and they told me a Tasco Red Dot will not fit the 22A. They said I need Weaver ring mount. Can anyone give info as to what inexpensive Red Dot has worked on their 22 A-1?

The store clerk dug thru the entire package. Another clerk checked 7 new packages and all contained only one. S&W indicated they will have a discussion with Gander Mountain.

Just bought my first S&W today (22A). I thought my research was thorough. I read some negatives on another forum. I need reassurance this was the right 22 for general target and rec shooting. Your opinion is welcome.
