    New guy here, wanted to share my DIY single sling mount

    I think the stud is threaded through ½" of material. Its pretty solid and the rifle hardly weighs anything. If you had the means, you could slide the nut down the inside of the buffer tube and then put the stud through the nut, but it would be tough to hold in place. Bushmaster did the same...
