I was referring to the fact that it doesn't have a pinned barrel.....which is a first for me seeing a Smith this "new".....when I saw the EP'd number on the yoke I didnt know what to think.
Had the grip taken off to see if it had any rebuild markings on it, then saw the 8 digit EP'd numbers on...
saw in LGS with box but has rubber packs on it... in decent shape...
wondering if its part on the first 2000 run

thanks for the help....I see it as a way to pickup a 5in 27-2...for not huge $...,i think it will clean up....not to be a pure collector piece....but rather a decent shape piece to go with my others

at a local shop from an estate sale....very dirty from firing and not cleaned....(should clean up ok) some rust on outside of cyl...
wearing rubber grips...but it is a 5in barrel...
wondering a rough value guess...hope to get a pic today

the holster is the early right side butt forward design....worn that way so you could draw your saber with your right hand from your left side...
is there a makers mark on the back at the top..and a lanyard stud on the bottom...heres 2 pics of mine
