When I started carrying many years ago it was always a S&W model 36. I then began a love affair with 1911s, and as I got older my EDC is now 80% P365, 15% 4" Compact 45, and 5% S&W 340PD for the extreme lightweight carry like gym shorts, a sweat suit, or riding my bike, either in my pocket or AIWB.

Interesting story. I'm curious as to what happened to the grip safety that is supposed to prevent this from happening with a 1911?

I have been carrying my 340PD for about 15 years. I have not had that problem, but I periodically check the screws, and I recently added a Wolfe spring kit. It's not a bad idea to check revolver screws whenever you clean the gun.
