This one appears to be the E series. It has a Scandian frame and melonited SS slide. They made a bare SS slide on black Scandium frame. I had the latter. Feels almost like a 39.
I have the same gun. It will accept any standard 1911 mag of 7 rounds or more. It comes with two 7 round mags with no bumper pads. I carry 8 round with bumpers. Fits flush. I have used it with 10 round McCormicks.
Surely others is someone out there with a duplicate black model +//

Thank you. I will update the files upon my return home late this week. In the meantime I have sent a note to customer service for more info like original distributor, etc.
Innie vs outie
The external extractor on the Smith is one of the things that I like most. An internal extractor with a slightly off grind is like a hidden gremlin that causes all kinds of mischief undetected until you send it back or find a competent gunsmith who replaces it "in case".
That...
170174 info
Outstanding! Is there any way that I can get pictures either posted here, sent PM, or to my email which is my user name @yahoo. Most pics posted have had the last one or two serial numbers removed though some that had been previously by their owners that got missed. I would be...
