Grip Identification And An Ugly Model 36

The grips may have been in a Herritt's box, but they are "Mustang" Grips. They were popular in the late 70"s and 80's.

    Dillon presses

I too use two 550 presses. One vintage 1988 for LP and one 1994 for SP. I started with an RCBS Rockchucker. My first progressive press was a Posiness Warren P-200 Metallic. It had removable die heads that would hold 2 calibers. It used std RCBS shell holders, priming was still one at a time...

Found a nice 35-1 Date help? Light strikes solved!

Check the main spring strain screw. It may be loose or someone may have shortened it for a lighter trigger pull. I have run into this issue on a few used guns I have picked up. Remove the screw and check the end for metal removal. To fix one old M15 I had, I removed the anvil from a spent large...

    SW99 in .45

Recoil spring assy. are NOT compatible between SW99 9/40 and the SW99 45 version. The 9/40 spring guide is too short/ less spring length. SW99-45 Guide rod is approx. 3.285" long with 38 coils of flat spring. SW99-9/40 Guide rod is approx. 3.106" long with 33 coils of flat spring. The plastic...

    SW99 in .45

I have 2 SW99's in 45. I like the gun, shot a lot of IDPA matches with the first one, the second is still NIB, now a spare/Safe Queen. I have some spare parts, I may have a factory guide rod for 45, I also have a SW99 in 9mm. I will compare them (measure) and let you know what the spec's are.

Model 66-2 Info & Price Thoughts

The magic of a 3" barrel gun is that it has a full length Ejector Rod. That is why I like 3" Model 65's

    Good powder for 30/30

My all around 30-30 load is 150gr Hornady SP bullet #3035 with 38gr of WW748. I load all my rounds on a Dillon 550. Works great in all my Marlin 336's.

Talk me in/out of the Sigma SW9F

Buy it, enjoy it, the only complaint I would have would be the trigger, but I have found they get better with use. Think DA Revolver when you shoot it.

    SW40F

I still own my 40F, still runs great. Mine is from the first 500 made and was first used in the 1994 S&W Invitational at Fulton NY. I purchased it from the match. I had a second slide outfitted with adjustable LPA rear sight (Bo-Mar Clone) I then shot it in USPSA matches (Major PF Loads 175) for...

    Room for a Dovetail?

Just a thought, Novak makes a Front Sight for Colt Officers models, that is a thinner dovetail. Officer Model slides are also thin in the front sight area. It may be worth a look.

    Midway Shipping

Midway isn't the only one who has issues packing bullets for shipment. I just received an order from Wideners, shipped FedEx ground. I knew I was in trouble when I followed a trail of .223 55gr FMJ bullets down the driveway to the box by my garage door. Opened box, bullets every where in the brown...

Cordless Power Tools, what do you have?

I have a Dewalt 18V set of tools that are over 20 years old. As most have mentioned the 18V Ni-Cad batteries are the weak link as they break down over time. I recently bought a Dewalt 20V right angle drill for a project I had that was in a small space. In the process I found Dewalt makes a 18V...

    Model 43 purchase.

S&W 43 These are great little 22 revolvers, I have had mine for 35+ years ( 4" Brl). It has been carried and shot a lot. Mine has the original aluminum cylinder, but it is getting tired as the empties come out swollen in diameter. Excellent outdoor tool, you don't even know you are carrying it.

Cracked Frame On Brand New J Frame Model 60

Replacement Revolver They will send you a new revolver. It is easier for them to do this. They have not had available "blank" serial numbered frame for years. They got audited by the ATF many years ago and penalized. No serial # leads to an untraceable firearm. As soon as a receiver/frame is...
