Model 29 and 629 Why the popularity?

Not much left to add, perfect backwoods gun, versatile, accurate, well-balanced. I load mine for hiking with two 44 special shot shells, then two 44s, then two full on magnums. Ready for anything. The only shooting iron I enjoy more is my '58 pre-27 with an 8 3/8" barrel.

    My Pre-27

My pre-27 has. An 164XXX, and shipped October 1958. Nice revolver, a little Flitz and it should clean up nice. They are great guns to shoot, my pre-27 with the 8 3/8” is my favorite shooting iron.

What Type Of Grip Are You Using? Rubber? Wood, etc:

On my 629 I’ve gone from stock rubber to Hogue rubber to Hogue G10.....and then finally ordered some Altamont walnut round to square conversion targets. For me, they work best...and aren’t hard on the eyes either.

Great idea! Taking a break from snow blowing last month, and hiking with my better 4/5ths. Can’t figure out how to correct the photos.

    Model 29 0.44 Magnum (1978-Vintage

Get the S&W extractor tool on Brownell’s, which allows you to tighten the extractor correctly without Locktite or marring the surface. I bought for the same issue with my m629.

    "The .357 Magnum" Pre-Model 27

Definitely early 1950’s, good deal even with the re-bluing. Altamont makes replica walnut Cokes for $95....I bought a pair for my pre-27 as they are a nice fit to my hand and the originals are rosewood safe queens now. Found a pair of Magna replicas for $45 on eBay while I waited 3 months for...

Navy Arms .32 rim fire ammo?

Hi folks, I just acquired a really nice model 1 1/2 that is functionally sound and in nice condition. I am not sure that I really want to shoot it, but of course the thought has crossed my mind. I picked up 10 rounds of Navy Arms smokeless .32 rim fire, from the drawing on the box it appears...
